Prevalence of Head Lice Infestation and its Associated Factors Among Female Primary School Students in Ghahavand County and Compared with the Previous Studies

Background and Objectives: Despite the progress of communities’ health, head lice (Pediculus capitis) infestation remains a major health problem. The aim study was to investigate prevalence its associated factors among female primary school students in Ghahavand County compare with previous studies. Methods: were cross-sectionally examined pediculosis infected identified. student demographic information collected recorded. results analyzed by Chi-square test SPSS software. Significance level considered P<0.05. Results: Among 499 participating study, 89 (17.8%) had pediculosis. There significant difference between terms parents’ educational level, history, parental assistance affairs, number household members, condition, type length students’ hair (P<0.05) But there not father’s employment, weekly bathing, use personal brush (P>0.05). compared Conclusion: Head is relatively high that depends on such as parent levels, care, hair. It recommended treat along attention instructions training parents instructors.
